Military PCS
Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Overview
PetsAboard is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Military PCS pet travel planning tools.
Information We Collect
Short answer: We don't collect personal data.
PetsAboard is a client-side application. All trip data, pet profiles, checklist progress, and preferences are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
We do not use cookies for tracking, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking services. We use Counter.dev for privacy-friendly, anonymous page-view analytics. Counter.dev does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users.
Data You Store Locally
When you use PetsAboard Military PCS, the following data may be stored in your browser's localStorage:
- PCS trip details (destination, report date, airline selections)
- Pet profiles (name, breed, weight, microchip number, vaccination dates, titer test dates)
- Checklist progress and notes
- User preferences
You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or using your browser's “Clear site data” function.
No Military-Specific Data Collection
PetsAboard does not collect, store, or transmit any military-specific information such as service branch, rank, unit assignment, duty station, or PCS orders. Any such details you enter into the planner remain in your browser only.
External Resources
The Service links to external websites including government agencies (.mil, .gov), airlines, military support organizations, and regulatory bodies. These links are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.
Third-Party Service Providers
While we do not collect personal data ourselves, the following third-party services may process limited technical information (such as your IP address) when you use PetsAboard:
- Netlify (hosting) - serves the website and collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps)
- Supabase (reference data) - provides pet travel requirement data. Your browser makes read-only API requests to Supabase, which may log your IP address.
- Counter.dev (analytics) - privacy-friendly, anonymous page-view analytics. No cookies, no personal data, no individual user tracking.
- Tally (contact form) - if you submit our contact form, Tally processes the information you provide (name, email, message). See Tally's Privacy Policy.
Security & Data Retention
PetsAboard is served over HTTPS. We retain no user data on our servers. Locally stored data in your browser persists until you clear it. Server logs collected by our hosting provider (Netlify) are subject to Netlify's own retention policies.
Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. Because PetsAboard stores no user data on our servers, there is no server-side data to access or delete. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We collect no personal information and sell no data. If you have questions about your rights, please contact us.
Children's Privacy
PetsAboard does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The Service is intended for use by adults planning pet travel.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
